T-Shirt poster

Dominik was kind enough to design a great poster advertising the t-shirts. It’s now available for download from the t-shirt page. Check it out!

website update

Updated links for Japanese Nursing Association and MSF to pages that specifically reference what they are doing to help. Added a bit of info about charitable receipts. Many other updates to names, sponsors, poster and letter PDF files.

more about Donations

We won’t be able to provide charity receipts for donations. The Japanese Nursing Association and the Japan office of Médecins Sans Frontières (explained here), cannot provide donation receipts for people who are not Japanese taxpayers. Also, due to the paperwork and expense involved Caring Nurses Nanaimo is not registered as a charity that can give receipts on its own. We apologize if this causes any inconvenience.

Donations

The donations are starting to pour in! Thank you EVERYONE for being so generous!

T-shirts again

The final designs have been chosen for the t-shirts, although there is some discussion about the costs involved in doing such high-end shirts. More news as it happens!

Event set!

The event has been booked! We’ll be at The Old City Station Pub on 08 April 2011. See the events page!

T-shirts

Part of the fundraising will include selling t-shirts based on the paintings of Nanaimo artist Dominik J. Modlinski. The two paintings chosen are here and here. We will also be seeking donations from local businesses and individuals for an auction to be held during the fund raiser.

Website!

We now have a website at http://caringnurses.ca, provided by Marc Donovan of Smiling Geek Enterprises. (disclaimer: Marc is the husband of Yoshie Shimura, one of the Caring Nurses organizing this charity fund raising.)

Starting

We have just started our operations. We are planning a fund raiser for sometime in early April. We plan for this to benefit the Japanese Nursing Association and Médecins Sans Frontières, two organizations that are both active in Japan, and are known for being fiscally responsible. More news as we get it.
